White Knuckle is shaping out to be the most important horror game of 2025. PC players keep winning as quality titles keep coming out. This one is very unique, you are a worker at the SUB-STRUCTURE 17, a cramped up place where your only task is to parkour through the guts of this concrete prison. Precision movement is a must if you wish to survive and not fall into the depths of eternity. This game oozes a ton of atmosphere, and it truly is amazing that the structure itself is every changing. That’s right, the game is also a roguelite, and a good one at that.
White Knuckle is amazing
The ideas, the atmosphere, the inventory management, all of this is quite unique to this parkour horror game. The project is being led by Holly Jencka, a professional artists who truly cares about her craft, and knows how to handle 3D well. There’s a ton to be said about White Knuckle, and everyone at Dark Machine Games is doing at great job with this project. People should really give this one a try, you won’t be disappointed.
There’s currently a demo with tons of things to do and explore, and if this is just a demo, I can’t imagine how big the full game will be. Creators in the indie space are the reason the industry for video games isn’t collapsing yet, but an incoming gale of change will set some things straight in the coming months. Thanks to these passionate developers, we can still experience new and unique ideas, and corporate entities are unable to understand this.
People want good games, complete games, and art that they can appreciate, all of these basic needs to make the medium worthwhile. However, ethics in the triple A industry have been on the decline, especially with the blatant endorsement of “AI”, AKA Copyware, that is destroying the medium. White Knuckle is made by real people, passionate artists, and its success is well deserved.
