FSR4 has been revealed a while ago, and its actually proving to be impressive despite the horrible AMD tech demo. Nvidia keeps taking the backseat after AMD decides that its time to pummel the green giant. After several fails that came up on the Nvidia side, including a new competitor coming over, AMD decides to get another win. DLSS4 is actually not impressive, be it due to their use of “AI” slop that trained on everything stolen from us, or its lack of tuning. FSR started primarily as a small algorithm unrelated to the whole “AI” craze that happened before it died out. We at Infinite Start will explain what is happening in the upscaling world.
FSR4 vs DLSS4
FSR used to be a simple algorithm that upscaled image quality to allow users in low resolutions to play their games in an illusory higher one. After FSR2, AMD decided to jump the “AI” slop train, and FSR3 was kinda disastrous compared to the Nvidia alternative. However, FSR4 improves vastly over FSR3, DLSS was always an “AI” based system, and with all of this time, it trained in wrong data.
GIGO is a very common term in the technology sphere, it means Garbage In Garbage Out. Nvidia is using datasets that are illegally obtained to train their models, the consequence of this is lower quality in the future. The green giant is currently in its cost cutting phase, doing their best to rush out products to take money from unsuspecting customers.
Gaming is not what it used to be, and now that these technologies have settled in, we can expect the industry to become a sea of slop. We can already see the effects of having unoptimized games done with no soul behind. Thankfully, indie games will always be able to run in the most basic of systems.
