Ballistic Moon has closed after releasing Until Dawn Remake

Ballistic Moon, the developers behind Until Dawn, have effectively shutdown their studio. After the flop that the Until Dawn Remake was, it was expected that this would happen in today’s unfair landscape. Nowadays, developing triple A games are often a matter of going big by betting on the right number, or going home broke. The game did release on PC, however, not many people did care about this one. In fact, not many people actually care about cinematic games that are cutscene driven, especially if the story is kinda sloppy. We at Infinite Start will bring you more reasons for why this happened.

Ballistic Moon closes down

Sony has finally unveiled its true form. After many years of being regarded as one of the best console developers, their true colors came out. Exclusivity plagued the industry when Sony decided to try and take over the gaming market with unfair practices. It wasn’t many months ago when they decided that ports of PlayStation games on PC need you to have a PSN account. Layering unnecessary services to control what you can or cannot do is pretty tyrannical and petty.

The reason why Sony does these moves is to try and artificially boost their user base numbers, which is growing smaller each day. Until Dawn was a victim of a Sony exclusivity deal for some time, and its one of the few PC games where you need an useless PSN account to play it. Thanks to this, the sales of the game flopped, and the PSN service was never properly removed from that release.

Studios often close their doors due to the incompetency of the publishers who drain away all of their resources. This is one of the big reasons the indie scene is having such a massive growth lately. With many tools available for different kinds of projects, as long as there is passion, a game can be made.
