Path of Exile 1 is getting a new update, to be honest, this is impressive. The title is more than a decade old already, yet Grinding Gear Games is still showing love to it. This is proof that a smaller studio compared to Ubisoft or EA Games is able to upkeep an online game for years. A chronomancer?
There will be new builds and ideas put into Path of Exile 1, one of these is trying to restore unused classes. The Harbinger is a new ascendancy to the sorcerer that has been in the back burner for quite a while already, and it seems to resemble the chronomancer from Path of Exile 2. One can suppose that these changes might be some way to connect the first title to the second one, and they might be right.
It is cool for games, especially online games, to be able to connect their lore in such ways. This shows that Grinding Gear Games cares about the world building in their title, and does their best to expand upon it. This new update still has not date, but the name of it is known. Legacy of Phrecia is the title of the new update, and might carry many implications that allow the timelines of Path of Exile 1 and 2 to converge with each other.
While Grinding Gear Games is working hard to bring players good content to fan acclaimed titles, other bigger companies are cutting corners. There has been massive layoffs at Ubisoft lately, which might be due to various factors. But the most predominant thing of these corporate settings is that they are often filled with unadulterated greed.
