We can suppose that Nintendo is still mad at Palworld over patents being infringed. They still haven’t stopped fighting the case against the legally risky game. For Nintendo, Palworld is an enemy to their Pokémon IP, and one they need to remove soon before others capitalize. It is true that Nintendo is using fraudulent patents to try and remove the game, but Palworld also committed the sin of copying the homework from others. We at Infinite Start will cover the details.
Copycat battle
It is obvious that Palworld is pretty much a game bordering legally when it comes to designs. Even the CEO of Pocket Pair admits that clone games should flood the market, a very dangerous statement that should be avoided in the industry. Originality is one of the most important principles that is starting to fade away from gaming. People should stop to enable slop from being produced by not buying into it.
However, this is a battle with no heroes, both Nintendo and Pocket Pair are quite dubious in how they operate. Nintendo is a fan for striking the dreams of fans, even if they are doing things in a legal way. Nintendo has been at the forefront for many attacks against emulation and preservation of games and media. Not to mention that Nintendo’s past is also rather murky in the arcade era, there’s public information about it.
Nintendo won’t stop fighting against the PC title, not for the legality itself, but mostly market related reasons. Out of the 23 patents, 22 of them were rejected, being cited as fraudulent, what Nintendo wants, is to keep fighting to bleed out their opponent. As long as they have the cash to spare, they will always use it to legally disable their enemy by bleeding them with court cash. This is a menace to the PC gaming space, but so is Palworld, and I take no side on the matter.
