The Vampire Survivor clone, Halls of Torment, gets an update

The popular and acclaimed Vampire Survivors clone with Diablo aesthetics, Halls of Torment, has received an update. This update brings plenty of content to the retro inspired game, allowing players to customize even more of their experience. Along with this, players can also obtain the game on a 25% discount for a limited time on PC. We at Infinite Start will cover what this update brings and some build ideas.

New Quality of life improvements have been added to the game by the developers. The pickup range now be made visible from the option menu, this can help players know how to pickup properly. It is possible to enable a live Damage per Second meter during runs. The “Chambers of Dissonance” now have markers hinting the Dissonator configuration, this can help players figure things out. The Archeologists Shrine is now transported next to the player after defeating the lord of a stage. The Player Stats user interface now show things such as Burn, Spark and Frost Damage and other utility values.

Along with this quality of life changes that truly helps make the game more accessible for players, there is also new items on the mix. Added “Demonic Grasp” Item that summons hands following you, grabbing enemies and loot. “Demonic Grasp” is unlocked by finishing the quest “Observer” from the Warlock. Adding “Beastmaster’s Hide” that summons strong Ice Elemental Beast that attack enemies and despawn after they have taken a certain amount of damage. Their stats scale with the player.

The quest “Trained Beast Huntress” will now unlock “Beastmaster’s Hide”. Adding “Elemental Capacitor” amulet that applies “Damage” Bonus to Elemental Effects. The quest “Dissonance Speedster” unlocks the new amulet “Elemental Capacitor”. Adding “Ability Signets” which do only exist as uncommon variants. They unlock for the ability they are for the option of a 3rd upgrade. Those rings can’t be unequipped once put on. The quest to collect 20 Artifacts in total unlocking the Ability Signets.

Halls of Torment is shaping up to be a serious competitor to Vampire Survivors, this is exciting to keep developing the genre forward.
