Star Wars Outlaws Director Disappointed With Review Scores

Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft‘s latest open-world adventure, has received mixed reviews since its release, earning a Metacritic score of 76. Julian Gerighty, the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, expressed his disappointment in an interview with GamesRadar. He acknowledged the importance of critical recognition but emphasized that player engagement remains the team’s primary focus.

Gerighty stated, “I’m a little disappointed with the Metacritic; of course, recognition from press and critics is very important to us, but players are really connecting with what we did.” Despite the lukewarm reception, the director highlighted a strong sense of pride within the development team. He noted that the game, which took roughly four years to develop, offers a unique experience unlike any other Star Wars game before it.

Addressing ongoing technical issues, Gerighty reassured fans that the team at Massive Entertainment is committed to improving the game over time. “This will be a game that millions of people are going to play for years and years, and we’re never going to stop improving it,” he mentioned, later clarifying with a laugh, “Well, that’s a lie…but today my mind is not on stopping improving it.”

Despite the initial challenges, Gerighty remains optimistic about the game’s future. He believes that with continuous updates and player feedback, Star Wars Outlaws can grow into a lasting success.
