Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch in fall 2025, according to Take-Two Interactive. This announcement came from their latest financial report, narrowing the previously broad 2025 release window. The timing aligns with the holiday season, boosting anticipation.
Take-Two expressed confidence in GTA 6‘s success. They believe Rockstar Games will deliver an exceptional experience. The company expects significant commercial impact, projecting growth in net bookings through fiscal years 2025, 2026, and 2027.
The first GTA 6 trailer, released in December, confirmed the 2025 launch and amassed over 100 million views within two days. The trailer surpassed the lifetime views of GTA 5‘s debut trailer, making it one of YouTube’s most-viewed trailers.
The game will be set in Vice City, a fictional Miami, featuring two protagonists. Notably, one protagonist will be a woman, marking a first for the series. The story will revolve around a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde-like duo, Jason and Lucia.
Take-Two’s fiscal report also mentioned other upcoming titles like NBA 2K25 and WWE 2K25. Despite concerns about potential delays, Take-Two’s confidence suggests Rockstar will meet the 2025 deadline. Previously, Rockstar delayed major titles, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5.
Take-Two’s optimism is reflected in their financial projections, aiming for $5.55 billion to $5.65 billion in net bookings for fiscal year 2025. This announcement sets high expectations for one of the most anticipated games in recent years.
