Square Enix is delighted to announce that Xbox Series owners eager to experience Final Fantasy XIV can join the upcoming open beta starting on February 21st at 12 AM PT.
The Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta for Xbox Series consoles will encompass identical content, features, and limitations as the free trial versions. However, participants won’t have the ability to make online store purchases during this period.
An Xbox Game Pass subscription will be mandatory upon the official launch of Final Fantasy XIV in 2024 for the Xbox Series. Yet, during the free trial and open beta phase, players need not concern themselves with subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.
For existing Final Fantasy XIV players looking to experience the game on Xbox Series, here are more details:
Players who already have the Free Trial version for a different platform or a FINAL FANTASY XIV license registered to their Square Enix account will be unable to participate in the open beta test. We ask any players, who wish to play FINAL FANTASY XIV on Xbox with an existing Square Enix account and its associated characters, to please wait until the full Xbox launch after the open beta test concludes.
To play on Xbox, you will need to link your Microsoft account and Square Enix account. You will not be able to unlink the accounts once linked. We ask that existing players please wait until the official release to link your Square Enix account to your Microsoft account.
