Mortal Kombat 1 Jean-Claude Van Damme Trailer is Quite Amusing

Mortal Kombat 1 released a new trailer highlighting the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage.

The trailer is a nice mixture of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s take on Johnny Cage’s quirks and standard Cage gameplay. It does a great job of showing the skins charm, without going too far one way or the other.

For those confused by the choice to include Jean-Claude Van Damme in the first place, it actually goes back to the original Mortal Kombat concept. The 1988 classic Bloodsport was part of the inspiration for the concept. They went so far as to see Van Damme himself in the world, though unfortunately that never happened. Following that fan favorite Johnny Cage was created as a reference to that, which this skin builds upon.

While the history is interesting, the skin is exclusive to those who purchase the Premium or Kollector’s Edition.

For those who haven’t kept up with Mortal Kombat 1, we published two positive previews, and the official overview can be found below.

It’s In Our Blood!
