Endling - Extinction is Forever Trophy/Achievement Guide 234234

Endling – Extinction is Forever Trophy/Achievement Guide

The hardest part of niche games is once you’re stuck, you’ll generally be stuck for a while. This is why I love making guides for games like Endling – Extinction is Forever or Unsighted. While nothing about Endling – Extinction is Forever is hard, there are a lot of easy to mess up things, leaving players to ask how to do something. So, let’s get into it.

Endling – Extinction is Forever Trophy/Achievement Guide

Timeline

What makes Endling – Extinction is Forever annoying is so many things are only available for a brief period. Missing food, avoiding events, not sniffing something will all require another run to fix. On a high note, I can tell you I got a run down to about 90 minutes, but I want to save everyone else the trouble by listing the timeline that I followed to platinum it.

Editor’s Note: Additional information about any of the things listed below can be found under the actual trophy/achievement listing. I’ve also heard reports that you do not need the alternate colors or some of the weirder things mentioned, but I am going to leave them in to ensure a successful unlock. Some of the things can also be done earlier, but I left them as is to make the timeline a lot easier to manage.

Trophy/Achievement Guide

To make things simple, this guide is going to exclude simple ones like the lair, which happens in story, barking in the rain (certain days have rain), petting your cubs and the hunting ones (super easy to just make a new save and do those).

We Are a Family

Finish the game with all cubs alive.

This is honestly not that hard. All you need to do is keep your kids fed, not lose them, avoid rare enemies like owls and complete the story.

A Friend in Need

Release the Badger from the trap.

On night eight you’ll see an event icon where the badger is shown in the image above. Just go up to it, finish the QTE and it will unlock.

Maternity

Reunite the Badger’s cub with their mom.

On night 17 you’ll have an event located here. On the ledge above will be a baby badger with its mom below. Basically, you need to go behind the sniper, grab the baby and then get to the mother without alerting the sniper. It isn’t too bad, you can actually just walk between bushes, just don’t try to rush it too hard.

Family Reunion

Rescue the missing cub.

Just follow all the purple scents and you’ll get it on night 28. This is also when you have the opportunity to do Beyond Words.

For a Better Tomorrow

Learn all cub skills.

Getting all the cub skills isn’t particularly difficult, though they can be a little awkward to find. To make it easier, just go to the places shown below and you should trigger an event where one of the cubs learns the skill.

For the remaining two jump skills, they both unlock as part of the story.

Beyond Words

Let the Scavenger pet you.

The Scavenger is the sniper that stole your cub. If you follow all the purple scents you’ll reclaim your cub and he will appear in a non-hostile role. At this time you’ll gain the ability to interact with him, which will give the trophy/achievement.

Omnivore

Let your cubs eat every kind of food in the game.

This trophy/achievement sucks, because there are a lot of things that quickly disappear. These include the deer and fish, both of which need to be done immediately or will require another run. In addition to those, there are also some really hard to find ones that only appear in one or two places.

Required Items
  • Deer
  • Fish
  • Berries
  • Rabbit
  • Apple
  • Rat
  • Garbage
  • Worm
  • Energy Bar
  • Mushrooms
  • Egg
  • Canned Meat
  • Chicken
  • Pigeon
  • Fast Food Bag
  • Container

For timing, I suggest following the timeline above to ensure you can get everything listed. Outside of that, I included the hardest to find items below.

A Barking Fox Doesn’t Bite

Bark at the Roamer

The Roamer is the person who plays the guitar and sometimes appears. There are like four opportunities to see them, but I found it simplest to just do on night seven.

You Can Pet The Fox

Let Molly pet you.

Molly is the girl you see with the gas mask, who after finding her house in the story, will be on the ground drawing something. If you revisit her she will give your cubs food and there will be an opportunity to have her pet you.

Lullaby

Pet a scared cub.

Throughout the game you’ll see owl enemies. Simply alert one, save your child and then pet it.

Easter Egg

Have your cubs eat the Easter Egg.

After getting the dangle skill, you’ll gain the ability to eat the various different eggs. One of them is yellow, which is located in the first area around where the game started. To make it easier, just follow the video below and you’ll be good to go.
