EA has now announced more details about its fourth Skate video game. The game isn’t called Skate 4 as it will be known as just Skate.
Aside from the final name of Skate, the game will be free to play on all platforms. This is a change from the series as the previous games were full priced titles.
The game is coming out to PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms with cross-play and cross-progression. Even a mobile version of the game is in the works, but this will be out at a later date.
Sadly, the game will have microtransactions to fund its development, although they stress most of this will be for cosmetics. Apex Legends is the inspiration for the game going this free to play route.
There’s still no release date for the game, but at least a new Skate is coming. It’s been a long time since the release of Skate 3 back in 2010.
