Resident Evil Village DLC Winters’ Releases October 28; Gold Edition Announced

Capcom revealed a wide variety of exciting things for Resident Evil Village, including a formal reveal of the DLC that includes a new adventure, additional Mercenary characters, third-person mode and a release date for Resident Evil Re: Verse.

The highlight of the DLC, Shadows of Rose, takes place 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village and follows Ethan’s daughter Rose.

The setup for Rose’s story

16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village

Rosemary Winters, Ethan’s beloved daughter, has grown up and is now struggling with terrifying powers. In search of a way to break free from her curse, Rose enters the consciousness of the Megamycete.

Rose’s journey takes her to a mysterious realm where memories of the past return to create a warped and twisted world of nightmares.

In addition to the campaign, fans of The Mercenaries will gain the ability to play as Chris Redfield, along with Karl Heisenberg and Alcina Dimitrescu. The PlayStation Blog post suggests there might be more playable characters yet to be revealed. If that isn’t enough, new stages will also be added.

Fans hoping for a third-person mode will finally get to experience that with the Winters’ DLC. It will include new animations and offer a new take on the terrifying adventure.

Third-Person Mode

This will allow you to play the main story mode in a third-person perspective. This new viewpoint will let you see Ethan as he faces off against his enemies. Those of you who are new as well as those of you who have yet to experience Resident Evil Village can experience the story in this fresh perspective.

Those who haven’t stepped into the world of Resident Evil Village yet can also purchase Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. This includes the game and the Winters’ expansion in one simple bundle. Both will be available for purchase on Oct. 28 for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series and PC.

Finally, Capcom confirmed Resident Evil Re:Verse will release on the same day, Oct. 28.
