How to defeat Matador in Shin Megami Tensei V

Matador is a fiend-type demon that has a weakness in lighting-based attacks. It has immunity to Force and resistance to both Light and Dark elements. Start by bringing demons that have Zio or Zionga to take advantage of that extra turn.

At the start of the battle, Matador will start using buffs to increase his Evasion. He mainly focuses on physical attacks while his Magatsuhi Skill will be Mazan +3 that can deal massive amounts of damage to the party if you have a demon that has a weakness to it.

To make it easier, have someone cast debuff spells that lower his attack and defense. If you can inflict status ailment, the better.

Rewards

After beating the Matador, you will get the Menorah of Foundation. You will also have the ability to get him through Special Fusion with Sophia in the World of Shadows.
