SPRAWL zero just got an amazing showcase trailer, this new PC boomer shooter is filled with high octane action and a retro feel that makes me remember of the best era of shooter games way back in the glory days of PC gaming. Taking the title into account, and the fact that another game in the series dropped 3 years ago, I believe that SPRAWL zero is pretty much a prequel to everything, the beginning of a dystopian tale. The soundtrack, like always, has those amazing vibes from the 2000s era, the Y2K is definitely back with this one and I’m very happy to see it.

For those who are looking for more games that play similar to ULTRAKILL, SPRAWL zero looks to be delivering some high octane gameplay that feels quite reminiscent. The cool part about boomer shooters is the fact that they often refine mechanics that should have been a mainstay in the era, but couldn’t because realism was at the forefront of everything. There’s isn’t many shooters that played like this back then because experimentation was replaced by triple A developers with safety.
I believe that SPRAWL zero might be the game we have been needing, we play as a cyborg construct, similar to ULTRAKILL, and we also have a parry ability with tons of other things we can do. The weapon loadout of the first game was criticized for its lack of variety, but we might see tons of variety in this new entry if the developers managed to fix that. Sometimes, quantity does not equal quality, and I would be fine with a smaller roster of weapons as long as they feel fun to play and are distinct from each other. Not many shooter seem to get this part right, hopefully this one does not make the same mistakes.
