Windrose recently got 1 million wishlists and counting, this might be one of the most wishlisted PC games currently. Hopefully the hype lives to the reality when this game drops, because this is quite the ambitious indie game to release. A cooperative online open world survival craft about pirates sounds eerily familiar to that attempt of a game that Ubisoft made in the past that I cannot remember the name of. I’m not really comparing this game with that one because Windrose clearly oozes quality compared to whatever output comes from Ubisoft recently.
Windrose rides the winds
There’s currently a demo for those who are curious, we really don’t know when the full game will come out but certainly it might do so this year. There’s a big gap for this kind of games that needs to be filled so an indie title taking the chance to capitalize on that gaping hole is a certain way to strike some gold. Time and time again we are proven that indie game developers are the ones who pretty much carry the industry because triple A developers don’t seem to care about us anymore. This is good, because someday triple A developers will need to adapt to the demands of an indie market.
When quality is demanded over quantity, the triple A side of the industry might be forced to comply with out requests, and perhaps then we will return to a golden era for gaming. It is on use to ensure this can happen so that’s why I do my best to cover anything that looks remotely interesting or is made by a beginner developer. For those seeking a challenge in the seas, with soulslite mechanics and even big bosses, Windrose might be that game you and your friends have been looking to take a part on.
