Arabian Gulf definitely feels like something made as a new 3D project for PC, and we have to respect the effort put by the developer behind it. Not many people do games, let alone even publish them in such a big platform. Arabian Gulf is a survival game that happens in a desert, your task is to reach a castle and plunder the treasure awaiting in it. For that will have to face the climate, enemies, and a ton of other troubles that try to get in your way to becoming rich. I have a feeling there might be a twist somewhere in the game where you find out there is no treasure, but that’s my hunch.
Arabian Gulf is free to keep
You need to gran it now before 8 Feb at 6:00pm, or else it will be gone and will probably never become free again. Opportunities like this are hard to pass on, so if you are looking to make your library grow bigger and your backlog get even more impossible to finish, this is your chance. The game seems very short, and it does indeed look like a first project, not that this is a bad thing, we need more indie developers in the industry who are willing to make things with their own hands.
It is clear that the game is also using flipped assets, but as long as the person behind it has the rights to using them then everything is totally fine, they could have gone the route of generative “AI” which would have been the worse thing they could do. As a matter of fact, thanks to that it wouldn’t even be covered by me, slop blends together all the time, but this one is different enough since it feels made by a person and not hallucinated by a chat bot. Arabian Gulf looks like quite the good time.
