The Last Starship has been released on PC, and it was an amazing 3 years of Early Access backers had to go through, but finally the game is complete and available to purchase as it was meant to be. Game development takes a ton of resources and creativity, yet many indie developers prove that by staying focused on a single thing you can create amazing things people want to play. The biggest hurdle for The Last Starship right now is discoverability, and here I am to give it some more eyes if possible, if you like Strategy games with Sci-fi elements, this is a game you should try out.
The Last Starship is out
It has taken a while to release it, as the game has been in development for 5 years already, there is a ton of things to do in it if you are a fan of base building and management simulators. The game will also keep getting more updates in the future, at least according to the blurb written by the team themselves, hopefully it becomes bigger than it already is but since it came out of Early Access maybe updates won’t be as huge. Regardless, quality is what matters and since The Last Starship has been completed developers aren’t really obligated to make more work for free on it if they don’t desire to.
Ideas are hard to implement, but perhaps they can listen to fan input to see what to do next, keeping good contact with the community of the game is crucial to ensure it succeeds on Steam. Nowadays, the games that find success are those who get updated regularly, however while this brings many advantages in the development side of things it also opens new doors towards certain issues. Games have to end, and complete experiences are a valid thing.
