Forgotlings looks like quite the interesting Metroidvania title. It also got a new demo you can try out if you have Steam on your PC, thanks to the huge success of Hollow Knight Silksong, the passion for Metroidvanias was rekindled with something new that looks quite promising. Genres never really die, people just wait for the best moment to capitalize on making them. This is why there tends to be booms here and there when it comes to video games, now we are leaving the Souls-like boom for the Cooperative game boom, meanwhile the indie side of things seems to be cooking more Metroidvanias instead.
Forgotlings is coming soon
February 17th is the date you wanna mark in your calendar, but if you are interested in getting an sneak peak then you can try out the demo for free, you can even use it to check if the game will work properly in your computer. It doesn’t seem to be demanding from a resource standpoint, people really need to optimize their games nowadays thanks to the ongoing “AI” hardware crisis. We might be stuck for some years with a previous generation of games, but considering the amount of people going back to older things it does not seem like a loss.
Forgotlings goes for an artsy vibe, the concept is quite imaginative if you ask me, the game is fully voice acted and it will be heavily story driven with very important choices to make. You play as a forgotten object, in a land of objects that seem to have become sentient, your role is to unite the five clans in any way you can, and you can even choose violence to do so. Depending on your path, you might see the story shape up in different ways, and it feels like Forgotlings is gonna be an emotional one.
