Ubisoft employee fired for criticizing the company in 2026

Ubisoft has been doing a ton of questionable moves, right now they have fired an employee that has been working with them for 13 years, and doing this cut is quite crazy considering you can’t really find people who work that well in this industry that easily. Yet again, Ubisoft proves that its handled by people who don’t really care about the quality of what they make, but rather how quick they can cash in on the latest fads in the tech and video game sector. With the cancellation of the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake, it is clear that we will only get more live service games nobody cares about.

Ubisoft keeps flopping

David Michaud-Cromp has been suspended for criticizing Ubisoft, but now he has been fired after 13 years of service. The only thing he ever did was criticize the company’s handling and how risky it was, saying that surviving on Live Service games is not particularly a good idea. Not to mention that he also criticized the Guillemont family, which are pretty much the reason Ubisoft is in such a bad position right now. The son of Yves, Charlie Guillemont, does not really have much experience in the field, hence the current dip in stocks that happened some days ago.

Laying off someone because they criticize you is a very harsh thing to do, and shows that maybe you aren’t fit to be in that position if you aren’t willing to listen to any sort of challenge brought by those who make the company what it is. It is crazy that there does not seem to be anything legal that could have protected David Michaud-Cromp, because other companies in Europe do have a strict framework regarding firing employees, a framework that Ubisoft themselves has disrespected by this unjust discharge.
