Critterville goes Bankrupt got a new trailer and its coming soon to PC via Steam, and it really feels like a sort of parody to Animal Crossing when you analyze what’s going on with the trailer. Honestly, this game has some big potential and its clearly a proper parody unlike Palworld who felt mostly like some sort of Pokemon and ARK Survival Evolved ripoff. Parodying is something that has its limits, and there’s sometimes a point where things get out of hand, but Critterville goes Bankrupt seems to not border the legal territory in the slightest.
Critterville Goes Bankrupt looks crazy
Hire workers and make them work extremely hard to build a fortune and pass some extreme laws to ensure you can get more money out of what essentially constitutes exploitation. This game seems to explore topics like that in a rather comedic way rather than serious, but you never know if they will pull a reversal and give us something to think about. There’s still no proper release date for the game, but I assume there will be something about it in 2026, perhaps even a full release of a demo.
As long as this game takes time to be cooked, it can surely be something to look forward to, while you are at it perhaps you should give this game a place in your wishlist to help the developers get a little boost. There’s many games and this is definitely an indie that needs to succeed in some shape or form, while the genre is oversaturated, a game that does things different like Critterville goes Bankrupt seems like something we need to breathe some fresh air into farming sims. There’s many clones of Stardew Valley, but a parody of Animal Crossing wasn’t a thing I expected to see in 2026, not at all in fact.
