Runic Curse Remastered just got an amazing trailer showing us that the game will come to PC for the first time. Created by a Russian solo developer, the original game was originally a mobile game on the app store that was in need of proper updates. A remaster of a mobile title that turns it into a real game for PC is quite something unexpected to see especially in today’s day and age. We need more developers to do something like this for live service titles before they go offline, port them to other platforms and remove the undesirable aspects like micro transactions.
Runic Curse Remastered is coming soon
The game is slated to come in 2026, although there’s not many details aside from the gameplay trailer showing us that its practically the same game with a different UI. To be honest, this is the right way to go about this, as changing too many things can risk damaging the identity of the original, while the average consumer will not care due to their inability to assess changes, original fans would so its better to respect the source. I will say that this game really feels like some sort of 2D souls like similar to Salt And Sanctuary.
Runic Curse Remastered is quite the hidden gem in the mobile market because there’s barely any game that is worth playing on those kinds of platforms. Most of the time, the majority of mobile games are ridden with micro transactions and other terrible dark patterns that can affect many people. Thankfully this solo indie developer actually cares on developing things he likes, and he does have more games you can check out such as Kings Blade, a game inspired by classics such as Golden Axe for the Sega MegaDrive. If you are interested, wishlist Runic Curse Remastered.
