Easily one of the most anticipated titles in the history of gaming and one that’s practically destined to break all previous sales records right after it launches, Rockstar’s GTA 6 may not even be complete at this point. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, even after all this time with multiple delays spanning more than a year, GTA 6 might still not be content complete.
“The last I heard, it was still not content complete,” Schreier stated in the podcast (around the 5:22 mark). “That is to say people were still finishing things up, still finalizing levels, and missions, and seeing what is going to make it into the game.”
He added that the stage of content complete for a game happens after the stage of feature complete and somewhere before the process of bug fixing and even during the process of detecting and fixing bugs, devs may still want to get new contents into the game.
However, what’s particularly worrying, is that Schreier is a bit unsure if GTA 6 could actually make it to the currently slated release date which is November 16, 2026.
“It’s really hard to say right now, and I don’t think anyone at Rockstar can tell you, with 100% certainty, that they will make it out in November,” he said, while adding he says it feels more real than that Fall 2025 date or the May 2026 date. “People feel like this might be a little more solid.”
While it’s certainly expected for a title as enormous and epic in both scale and scope like GTA 6 to may not reach content completion even at this stage, but if that somehow propels Rockstar to delay the game even further, things can certainly get a bit dicey.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
