Rebounder is a precision platformer set in space, and it looks insane, at least from what we can see in the trailer and Steam Store images. I thought Comix Zone would remain a timeless classic thanks to its comic book styling but Rebounder might prove me wrong on that one. I still want to shill for a classic coming from the hands of the Sega Technical Institute, but if this title ends up being amazing, I might have to make my mind on some things. How hard will this one be? Definitely doesn’t sound like something for the average gamer, at least that’s what I feel.
Rebounder coming in 2027
We don’t know much about it aside from the fact that it looks pretty cool, and seems to play quite hard too. It feels like the kind of game that really wants to see you fail a thousand times and eventually you solve the screen you are in. If they don’t have transitions like that of a comic book, then it will definitely not be better than Comix Zone was in the past. But hey, I feel like both games can coexist and there is no need to make some competition between them, I can like both.
Publisher, Aggro Crab, is known for having some very good gems under the hood, and it seems that developer ThirtyThree picked the best house to publish under. I wanna see this one succeed despite what players might consider, hard games with arcadey feel need to thrive because that’s pretty much what invented games in the first place. Its no game if there is no challenge, and most importantly, I’m also interested in the story it will tell, because that art direction would be wasted if it didn’t have anything to tell to us gamers.
