Yakuza 0 is getting delisted from the Steam platform, and many players are getting worried because this will make it impossible to buy legally. However, the reasons as to why this is the case is because they want to sell the new and shiny Director’s Cut version that might have terrible performance issues compared to the original. Digital games getting delisted is quite ludicrous as a concept, they don’t exist in physical copies, nor do they hog any sort of physical space. The only reason it would make sense for this to happen is the company behind thinking people won’t buy the old one.
Yakuza 0 to be delisted
Yakuza 0 is beloved by fans of the series, so it is understandable why they would be upset when this game is getting replaced. There’s a ton of things that make people angry in the gaming world, and one of the biggest issues we all face nowadays is delisting. People thought that Bandai Namco was the only company to do so, but it seems that this wasn’t the case anymore. Sega decided to partake in the forbidden act of taking down classics to replace them with new but perhaps not optimized versions.
Yakuza 0 can run well on many PCs, it can even run well on older PCs too, so doing this will lessen the amount of people that can play a classic. The only reason this is happening, is because they want to sell us the same game again without giving us the chance to own the older one. That way publishers can be justified to rehash the same game over and over without consequences, because Bandai Namco is a good company to take examples from. If you wanna buy Yakuza 0 before it goes away, it currently sits at a nice 45% discount, you have until December 8th.
