Carbon is pretty much a creation that comes from mixing up the fantasy based Diablo series with a Sci-Fi world. When you analyze it in depth, it is clear that this game drinks a ton from DOOM. However, the gameplay is entirely different to the popular shooter, as this one is more akin to Diablo on PC, one that is but a shadow of its own past. Gamers have been waiting for a worthy successor to Diablo, and it seems that their prayers have been heard, along with this, fan of dark dystopias will also be in love with Carbon. The aesthetics are quite reminiscent to the darkest of places shown in Cyberpunk 2077.
Carbon got a demo
The demo is quite long, around 2 hours of gameplay might be needed to clear the whole thing. The atmosphere of this game is immaculate, and it truly puts you inside the game world created by the environment designers who are industry veterans. The team behind this game has a history of having worked with various groups, such as EA games back when they had some potential room for morals, and even some have dealt with Konami before. This one is big, and it also has a Kickstarter campaign with a ton of backing behind
The goal is near, and it only needs around 2000 or more dollars, out of 523 backers, the number keeps growing and so the chances to become a reality. Showing us a demo is a big sign, and it even seems like the developers are working for an online mode. This has all the bells and whistles of retro Diablo games, but with a very clear push for a sci-fi world, and we can only hope that it can surpass what Diablo 2 did back in the early 2000s. With Blizzard dethroned, Carbon gets a chance to shine.
