Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil HD Remaster, along with other titles, are free of DRM on GOG. For PC gamers who are curious, this is the best way to grab some classics that defined the survival horror genre. These games are timeless, and they still look amazing today, you also have the opportunity to buy the originals if you so desire, as they are both different experiences to enjoy. If only the series followed the path of Resident Evil 0, perhaps there wouldn’t be a divide in the fandom when it comes to gameplay concerns over the time, as gameplay isn’t a concept that gets antiquated.
Resident Evil 0 is on GOG
Capcom is starting to realize that people want to see their old games on the platform, and despite them pushing back against what helped them rise to the position they are in, they realize they must do this. Preserving your legacy is important for building a long lasting bond with customers, and also honoring all the past work you did to reach the place you are in. Many of these pieces of art would be lost to time if Capcom didn’t do anything, and if GOG didn’t offer the ability to place your games in their store front.
GOG also fixes them to make them run on current operating systems, bridging the gap for players who might not have that old PC setup with them anymore. Oftentimes, developers are also happy to provide the ability to play these games, and while there’s still a ton of games out there that need this treatment, Japanese companies are starting to realize that they should go for it. We can only hope that Bandai Namco decides to do the same with many classics, such as Soul Edge, Digimon World, and Klonoa. But for Capcom fans, Resident Evil 0 and HD Remaster are finally here.
