Successor is a success, at least that’s how I feel about this awaited PC release. Not many games are able to survive the early access period so its important to celebrate those who are able to do so. Reaching Version 1.0 is a very important milestone that makes a huge difference when it comes to being successful or not, you do have to pay fees to drop something on Steam and it takes tons of work to get noticed in some way. That is my task, to give a space for Indie games to thrive and get the publicity their deserve, as long as there was effort put behind it.
Successor is a huge success
So far reviews are looking quite good, 75% out of 20 are positive, so the game is set to have a good life from now on. There might still be some updates done to it, as version 1.0 is hardly the end of the journey but the beginning of a new one in reality. While developers can opt to leave the game in its current completed state nowadays people just want to have more content for the games they paid for. You could see this as modern gamers being demanding, and they sure are, but considering we have these tools to play with then we can make use of them.
Successor is a strategy game for those who enjoy playing War Games such as Ogre and Warhammer. There’s a ton of things to do in Successor as it is a new system that seems reminiscent to your favorite War Games but its different enough to keep you hooked. While it would be lovely for people to do something entirely new and wild for new franchises, it is understandable why indie titles cannot do that sometimes. It is quite expensive to create something truly new, but since games are art, why does price even matter?
