The PC version of Borderlands 4 has been a huge let down since it’s release with wide complaints regarding sub-par performances even on high-end systems, however developer Gearbox has released a recent update that has resulted in pretty decent performance gains, according to tests run by MxBenchmarkPC.
The Youtuber’s benchmarks on the latest update of Borderlands 4 has revealed around 10% performance improvements at both 4K and 1440p resolutions. And while the benchmarks were done using an RTX 5080 which is one of the highest end graphics cards out there, the potential for a notable increase in performance is indeed there so if you’re currently playing Borderlands 4, make sure to install the latest update and find out if the game runs better on your system now.
And although numbers like 10% or 20% doesn’t look like much, compared to how abysmal Borderlands 4’s performance was when it came out, it’s still promising.

Besides bringing the aforementioned performance improvements, the October 23 patch for Borderlands 4 also fixes a host of stability issues, introduces numerous gameplay tweaks, multiplayer, Visuals, Audio and UI related improvements and more.
Borderlands 4 also got a free seasonal content which includes a new mini-event named Horrors of Kairos that is scheduled to run from October 23 to November 6 as players battle against multiple tough bosses with each of them having a chance of dropping legendary level loot. The boss battles will take place in blood rain weather which will trigger at the start of each fight, making the gameplay much more memorable in many ways. Also, developer Gearbox is aiming to release more seasonal contents for Borderlands 4 through the use of SHiFT codes in the near future which would be great as well.
There’s also a new endgame Boss named ‘Bloomreaper the Invincible’ scheduled to release sometimes in Q4 as part of Borderlands 4’s lineup of Invincible bosses. The upcoming content will also include increased difficulty while introducing the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode in the game.
