Brought into definitive confirmation is none less than the inactive-return of Brock Lesnar into the WWE 2K title series, which will apparently accompany the forthcoming WWE 2K25 content cycle. The files unveiled after the release of Patch 1.26 detail the roster arrivals listed under the John Cena “Farewell Tour” DLC, which is to hit on October 16. This marks the comeback of Lesnar into the series-a highly momentous return, as he notably was not a part of the previous installment, WWE 2K24, which featured him removed from the game and even the cover of the “Forty Years of WrestleMania” edition.
His absence from the 2024 edition was assumed to be the indirect fallout of the implication in which he was attached to a suit filed by Janel Grant, former WWE employee, against WWE and Vince McMahon in January 2024. He was not mentioned within the civil suit, but his digital presence was instantly expunged. His entry into WWE 2K25 marked a critical shift in policy regarding his standing in the franchise, along with his return to active wrestling competition recently, as documented most recently at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
Further forensic analysis of the discovered assets is that this is more like the restoration of what cut out from WWE 2K24. Dataminers also confirmed that the downloadable package contains a completely new character model for Lesnar, said to be in attire based on SummerSlam ’25. Creation of a modern-day, bespoke model shows that Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have moved beyond that controversy and are now committed to fully integrating him back into the core roster and development pipeline.
There’s a lot more happening in the “Farewell Tour” DLC content pack, which focuses on the illustrious career of John Cena, other than the return of Lesnar. The package includes two separate appearances for the marquee star: his “WrestleMania 41” look and his early “03” persona. Also listed as an official addition to the roster is an R-Truth version popularly known among fans as “Ron Cena.” There are also file mentions of additional historical depictions of Kane, particularly the ’03 and ’08, in addition to five new T-shirt options for Create-A-Superstar mode, each riffing off Cena’s in-ring garb from various tour stops. Unreveal the entire pricing structure of the DLC, but that level of content is a major injection post-launch for the title.
