Destiny 2 suffers a severe decline in their concurrent player numbers. PC gamers are tired of having to deal with Bungie’s decisions and they are starting to leave the game disregarding the sunk cost fallacy, it is possible that Destiny 2 won’t be lasting more than a few months now. It is rather sad, the game started back then in 2017 and amassed a massive playerbase, now it is struggling to find its place in a saturated market because Bungie has become quite the greedy company. There is ways to please your customers, but no company is really doing that so far, aside from those who make real video games.
Destiny 2 might die soon
A decline in players for a live service is a signal that not many people wish to see, especially the people who were responsible for creating it in the first place. Maintaining these games, while not particularly expensive if set on cheap servers, can still be a monumental task to do and often times they just die being lost forever to time itself. Games like this should stop existing because everything that comes from them is nothing more than wallets drained and frustration about unbalanced mechanics and pay to win slop.
There is some effort put behind, and despite how many times Bungie has stolen stuff to make the game be a thing, Destiny 2 started as a work of love for them. It is hard to believe, but Bungie used to be responsible for the Halo series and the original Marathon entries, both being amazing games that everyone needs to play before its too late to do so. These games were preserved, unlike Destiny 2 which will probably die before it gets saved by the measures of Stop Killing Games, it is sad that we have to rely on lobbying to prevent these games from ceasing to exist.
