Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is finally out on GOG, the masterpiece RPG can now be owned by people who are interested in preserving their things and having a right of ownership over their digital purchases. There has been an ongoing war against clients and corporations lately, some are just succumbing to the pressure of agreeing with the terms of companies while others are pushing back against the madness. Buying is owning, and they wanna change that definition so owning isn’t even a possible thing to do anymore. A ton of effort went into this game, it would be a tragedy if it got lost in the sands of time and remain forgotten.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is on GOG
Clair Obscur Expedition 33, despite being made by millionaires, and despite having been a part of a controversy that got fixed quite quickly, is a great game. Companies like Sandfall Interactive seem to care about archiving their works, so now you can actually buy this one on GOG and download a file to your computer to just install it from an executable, similar to the older days of buying games that you owned. GOG wants to provide people with the experience of owning their stuff, respecting their rights to ownership.
It’s saddening to see the world of gaming descending into subscription slavery, as every purchase made bounds you to a contract claiming that you don’t really own what you buy and that it isn’t yours to have. It is also maddening that people are falling into the corporate trap of just singing these contracts that put our rights at risk. If you care about all of this, then good, there’s plenty of Stop Killing Games things to do, there’s still a voice to pass around, the truth shouldn’t be crushed by lies and if we speak up enough, things can change.
