Fata Deum got an amazing trailer that shows us some gameplay of the new PC game. This kind of game will be familiar to those who grew on the good era of PC gaming before the unoptimized mess began with this new slew of triple A games. Back in the day, triple A games on PC used to be quite optimized, and it showed that both publishers and developers alike cared about keeping a standard of quality. This is not the case anymore because money has become the new meta, and they will do whatever they can to get it, even if it means lowering the quality of games. Thankfully indies don’t suffer from this.
Fata Deum is nostalgic
Not only did they nail the aesthetic of old 2010s PC game, but they also seem to have nailed the gameplay and the forks between good and evil that used to happen during that time. This is a God Game, a genre that has been dead for quite a while, and it seems that Fata Deum’s objective is to revive the thing and capitalized on it. Age of Mythology might be a familiar game for some, and if you actually liked that one you might end up loving Fata Deum since its inspired in it, while its still an early access title, the release date will be tomorrow.
It is an amazing time to be an indie gamer, because the variety of genres far surpass whatever triple A developers can give us. Right not triple A developers are laser focused on copying the souls-like formula and mixing it with everything. If you have never played a God Simulator, you may wanna give a try to Fata Deum, which seems to be built as a good starter experience for someone who never played this genre before, wishlist it to give it a nice push in the algorithm.
