According to Gematsu, EA will host a brand new event during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show to reveal more about the single player story campaign for Battlefield 6. EA’s plans include a presentation on September 26 in Tokyo which will showcase a new look at Battlefield 6’s single-player mode, featuring lead developers Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola, along with the game’s English voice actors.

The single player campaign of the upcoming Battlefield 6 will most likely continue the series’ tradition of delivering spectacular, cinematic FPS action featuring a gripping story that spans across the globe with all the bombastic, high-stakes plot elements that’s become a part of AAA blockbuster franchises. It’s pretty safe to say that if you’ve enjoyed the previous single player campaigns of the series, you’re going to love the new one as well which will combine even more real world references and narrative beats.

As revealed by the official trailer for Battlefield 6, it’s story campaign sees the President of the United States speaking to the American people about a “monstrous, unprovoked attack” taking place on a global scale, highlighting the grand scope of the action. The trailer also showcases a wide variety of places including a war-torn city of New York, mountain peaks, Sun-soaked deserts and more, indicating that it’s story events will unfold across the world in an explosive, action packed thrill ride.

Lead developer Campos-Oriola has previously stated that the central theme for Battlefield 6’s campaign is the predicament of “talented but ordinary people put in extraordinary situations.”

“That creates a very interesting dynamic in terms of relationships with other people. These are elements we’re looking to capture in the single player,” the developer stated. Which means even though the story will feature action entirely from the perspective of the military, it’ll also have moments where common folks will be at the center stage of the events, perhaps bringing an element of pathos and realism in the mix.

Battlefield 6 is slated to be released on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC platform.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
