Hollow Knight Silksong is a huge success, but the Chinese translation is terrible, but fear not because Team Cherry is planning to fix that. Translating to foreign languages is often a huge chore that takes tons of time and effort to accomplish, especially when it comes to the cultural barrier challenge that is translating something to Chinese. China has some big censorship laws going on, similar to the ones that the world is trying to force upon us, the fun reality is that some “powerful” people still complain about China being terrible when they enforce the same regulations over us, but I digress. We at Infinite Start will cover this big error.
Hollow Knight Silksong is not good in China
It is a shame because a big part of the gaming population comes from China, which mean it can tip reviews in the wrong direction. Thankfully Team Cherry has confirmed that they will diligently work in fixing this issue because the people of China also deserve to play the game too. Games are art and they should reach anyone, everywhere, and if a translation isn’t good this can often jeopardize the experience a game provides, especially a game with vast amounts of lore like Hollow Knight Silksong.
We still have no information as to what resources or how much time it will take to implement such a fix, but Team Cherry always promises and seems to keep delivering more than what they promised. Perhaps this fix can be implemented in 2025 if they find a good translation team that can do the lore of this huge game justice and keep Chinese players happy with the results. I do wonder if things will have to be cut from the game to appeal to the Chinese populace, but I highly doubt there should be any cuts at all in Hollow Knight Silksong’s Chinese Edition.
