Ever since it’s release, Capcom’s massive hit Monster Hunter Wilds has been plagued by performance problems including poor FPS even in sufficiently high-end PCs and although there have been numerous optimizations for the game through various updates and hotfixes, the problems still continue to persist to this day. But it looks like Capcom is now committed to ironing out all the performance issues in the game for good as the company has just released an official statement on Twitter/X that Monster Hunter Wilds will receive an update dedicated to “CPU and GPU related optimizations” which could finally address all of the lingering performance issues the game has had so far.
But on the flipside, players have to wait till Winter to actually get the patch which is a bit of a downer considering it’s still around four months away. On the other hand, more time could mean Capcom really tracking down every single performance woes in the game and fix em for good this time, which would definitely be welcome.
Capcom wrote: “To our hunters playing #MHWilds on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game.”
“Although we will continue to implement gradual improvements in the weeks ahead, we are targeting Free Title Update 4 this winter to implement a multifaceted plan, including CPU and GPU related optimizations, followed by a second stage of mitigation measures afterwards.”
“We’ll share more information on the specifics in the future.”
However, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any performance improvements in the mean time as Monster Hunter Wilds is still set to receive, in Capcom’s words, “gradual improvements” in the coming weeks which will no doubt continue to polish and address the overall gameplay and technical issues in numerous ways.
Also, Monster Hunter Wilds has just received the latest Hotfix patch ver 1.021.02.00 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC which brings the following bug fixes and balance adjustments:
- Fixed an issue that reduced the invulnerability window upon successfully performing the long sword’s Iai Spirit Slash against monster attacks that have long hit detection durations.
- Fixed an issue where, when the Item Bar Display option is set to Type 1, if you select an item using the Item Bar while in Aim/Focus Mode and then release Aim/Focus Mode, the selected item would revert to an empty slot.
