Fatekeeper got an impressive trailer dare I say, if people were bored with what Avowed was doing for some reason, this one looks like a good time, and PC gamers might love it. There seems to be two trends going on recently, Souls like games, and first person ARPGs seem to be the next thing too. In a way, it does make sense, both share engine elements which can speed up their development, and it is also nice to have more alternatives that aren’t just Avowed, the market needs more ARPGs with good plot. We at Infinite Start will cover what we know of Fatekeeper so far.
Fatekeeper looks very interesting
There seems to be a big focus on battle, and there’s also some very cool details going on with graphical effects and battles, which seem more dynamic and realistic despite the initial impressions left by the obvious ragdoll animations of humanoids. The fact one can dismember and even maim their enemies with dynamic animations going on is something to bring forward, it will definitely be a title geared for adults, if the ESRB warning wasn’t enough to get the idea across and I’m honestly all for it.
The trailer also does a very good job at building tension through it, explain some bits of the world. It does feel similar to the usual Dark Fantasy world building, but maybe Fatekeeper gets to surprise us with some unexpected twists that can land it a game of the year position, at least in the writing aspect. Coming from the publishing house, THQ Nordic, we hope that this game manages to find success and not be riddled with day 1 issues that can affect the enjoyment.
