1900 Blizzard devs score huge Union contract against AI

1900 Blizzard devs

1900 Blizzard devs manage to settle for a huge contract that will ensure their future is safe. This is huge because many companies are against people unionizing, but it seems that Xbox under the wing of Microsoft has allowed this to happen. It also comes as a very odd thing because they have gutted pretty much a ton of people in the past weeks, to the point many believed Xbox would be dying soon. I don’t know what the plan is, but regardless of that we can know that 1900 workers in the industry will be safe from being replaced by AI or suffering other issues at the company.

1900 Blizzard devs are safe

Considering how ruthless the industry is against the people who keep it stable, this sort of union contracts are needed because without them you are unable to have any sort of protection against the abuse coming from companies. Considering most people in the industry aren’t properly registered since many positions don’t qualify for getting protections, the gaming industry is filled with exploitation at every corner. This is a huge win because it might lead to there being some sort of wave effect causing other companies to stop pushing back against unions.

We customers want games that are good and also made by people who aren’t being exploited ideally. Not to mention that the usage of AI is strictly forbidden for anything with a modicum of soul and quality in it. Blizzard should understand this well, cause if they don’t then nobody will be buying Blizzard games ever again. There’s already issues with huge companies pushing for slop all over the place, and more people are starting to tune out and sales numbers keep winding down. We are tired of companies pushing against their workers and customers.
