Rhapsody in Scarlet just got revealed in a trailer for State of Play and it truly looks like it will be an amazing game to check out on PS5. The State of Play was largely unimpressive but there is some gems here and there and I’m glad to see Konami making something that isn’t a pachinko or some weird Silent Hill remake. The way to keep gaming going is to make new franchises, Capcom knows this well, but at the same time its important to respect the legacy of the things you left behind. Many companies either play it way too safe, or simply forget about what made them great.
Rhapsody in Scarlet looks cool
An action game with summoning creatures sounds quite amazing and I really wanna see how it turns out. We still don’t have a proper release date but judging from the fact that it dropped in the State of Play it might retain exclusivity for the console momentarily. Although I can also see it has a page on Steam, which is very good because that is now the main platform people play their games on. I miss when consoles were the dominant force, there was more variety and a ton of options for people, not anymore.
Rhapsody in Scarlet might end up being a great game to play, but doesn’t people get tired of seeing stuff that isn’t properly stylized and they just used photo realism for the sake of using it? I feel like Konami could find some niche in new retro games or smaller projects because those are more simple to make in their budget. However, for those to be good they need good game developers that can bring fresh ideas to the table, those are very hard to come by nowadays which is very sad.
