Even though the recent string of gameplay leaks may have soured the overall expectations just a little bit, the recently revealed Netflix showcase of GTA 6 has proved that the upcoming open world behemoth is just as breathtaking as many players have imagined it to be, or even more. And adding more to the excitement is the fact that Rockstar Games are staying committed to deliver the next evolution of Grand Theft Auto on their previously announced release window which is just a couple months away as in a recent interview with Famitsu, Rob Nelson of Rockstar North has reaffirmed the game’s current release schedule.
“I’d be thrilled if you feel confident about the quality. And yes, it will definitely be released (laughs).”
He also said that the devs are currently in the process of polishing and refining GTA 6 to the extent that both players and the game rightfully deserve:
“I like it. Quite a lot, in fact. The design is very complex, with various systems working together, and I’m very proud of the development team’s collaborative effort in creating it. I’m very satisfied, but we’re currently working every day to further refine it and provide stable, smooth operation.”
So yes, there may not be any more delays after all, however, between now and November, a lot can happen so the possibility may not be ruled out, as of yet.
It’s also revealed that the full map of Vice city in GTA 6 is twice the size of the enormous Lost Santos from GTA 5, which is absolutely staggering and could easily take years to explore to it’s fullest. Plus, the main narrative can take around 80 hours to complete which means we’re in for a sumptuous experience with the upcoming open world behemoth, just like it’s predecessors.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
