Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is one of the best strategy games of all time, and it might be the best entry in the series so far provided Olden Era doesn’t get even better than it already is. For some reason the only good way to get this game was on GOG, because Steam actually sold you some digital air. That’s right, you just paid for something you can’t own for some reason, only to keep it in your library and never own it, oops. At this point I don’t even know what Ubisoft does anymore and I want to see this series returning to its real owners.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 can be acquired
Of course, its only a license, and they can revoke it from you any time when you buy on Steam. In fact, any platform can technically revoke this from you, but it seems that the big ones like Sony or Xbox are the main ones that love to remove your digital content that you bought and paid for. It is insanity that the same company that distributes the goods can just do away with them. Imagine if a comically angry restaurant manager came to you and told you that you should puke the food you ate.
It truly is insanity, and Ubisoft is an insane company, but Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is an eternal game that keeps getting more and more players. The newest entry, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, looks great and plays great, but there’s something about the original trilogy, especially the third one, that is amazing. If you buy it on GOG you can get all of the content that is missing, or you can just, well, get it via other means because Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a very old game.
