Blue Dragon deserves way more recognition that it gets, despite being quite the basic RPG, it definitely is a game that more people should experience. It is pure, and it is filled with love from an era where making games was mainly a creative task rather than affixing the most cheap and generic things together and rolling with it. I’m surprised its a dead series, but it makes sense, it pretty much was made for fans of things like Dragon Quest and the Japanese market. Now, fans of the game have made a PC recompilation without any slop involved, only pure skill.
Blue Dragon is great
And I’m surprised that it didn’t make more sales numbers despite combining a ton of things people love. Dragon Ball is great, JRPGs are great, and the soundtrack of this game is simply too supreme to be contained in a single game. There is a ton of cool stuff to do, and it truly was a gem of the Xbox library that needed to be unleashed once more. I’m glad there’s still skilled people left in the world to do things as it should be done, with quality and love put into every detail.
This recompilation is pretty much something native, no fancy emulation, no trickery, its rendering natively on PC as if you were playing it during development cycle before shipping it to console. Blue Dragon deserves much better, and the fact that its still stuck on a dead console brings tears to my eyes. The only ones caring about preservation seem to be the fans rather than the companies that force amazing creators to make products that die with time. If it weren’t for us, we wouldn’t have the vast majority of games living as they should, everything is worth preserving as long as it comes from the hands of people, and Blue Dragon is awesome to see again.
