Path of Exile 2 will continue from the lore of the first game, and it will also become a free to play game in December 11, so please do not buy the game and be patient. You are pretty much paying to beta test a PC game that isn’t out yet, basically paying to do a job that you should get paid for. When the game becomes free a ton of people who paid for it will be in for disappointment, because it is clear the game will change a lot based in this. However, Path of Exile 2 is regarded as quite the fair Diablo clone.

Regarded by many gamers as a fair game, Path of Exile was pretty much a free to play replacement of the Diablo series, and it shows a ton of inspiration taken from it because even the UI doesn’t try to hide it. The lore is similar too, and the gameplay is what truly gives it away once you start playing it for the first time after having played other Diablo games or even the first ones. It truly feels like the golden era of Diablo before all the Blizzard nonsense that ruined that series.
Path of Exile 2 will be more of that goodness, however I don’t agree with the fact that they are charging money to access the game early and then make it free. It should remain a paid game without any sort of microtransactions inside, only that way I will be able to respect the game and the creators behind it. However, exploiting the customer is what brings you money nowadays, so companies will do everything they can to squeeze every penny from unsuspecting players. It really makes you want to give another run to the first Diablo game.
