We still don’t know when Lego Skylines will drop, but so far it is on PC, at least from what the trailer shows to us. There has been a ton of Lego games lately, and also a full line of products that is quite expensive and related to Pokémon. There is a ton of Lego content to enjoy, but the best things you can enjoy are the older PS2 Lego games that marked a generation. They are very fun, and based in popular IPs like Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones, the Batman ones happen to be the most popular entries too.
Lego Skylines is different
This is more of a casual city builder, and it was a very long time since we had a Lego game that was about this, building with virtual blocks. There was a ton of potential for this idea but it was severely under explored for unexplainable reasons if you ask me. I can’t fathom why they never tapped into this but now that they are doing it I’m giving them a thumbs up. Of course, we have to see the game releasing and it being good because it could be a disaster, since Paradox is involved it might be good.
Lego Skylines will be focused on City Building in a very Sim City like way, but with way more tools at your disposal that makes things feel more alive and varied. Games have advanced a ton since the early days, and it is impressive to see people still trying such antique concepts regardless of this. Of course, thanks to these advances more things can happen in games, but don’t you miss when games were a bit more self contained and limited in what they could do? I wonder what a game like Lego Skylines would have been in the 90s.
