Last week, developer Rebel Wolves had released a gameplay video for their upcoming The Blood of Dawnwalker titled ‘Console Footage’ where it was revealed that the open world vampire action RPG won’t come with a 60 FPS Performance mode on either the PS5s or the Xbox Series X|S. Instead, The Blood of Dawnwalker will only offer two modes named Quality and Balanced where Quality will provide Dynamic 4K at 30 FPS and Balanced will deliver Dynamic 4K at a slightly higher 40 FPS.
However, the devs have just announced a new 60 FPS Performance mode for the upcoming title that will be available on launch day, which is great news for all players as now everyone can have a much more responsive and smoother gameplay experience on all consoles. On their official X/Twitter page, Rebel Wolves stated the following:
“The Blood of #Dawnwalker will receive a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X on Day 1 through the launch patch.
On Friday, we answered your questions about console performance with what we knew we could confidently deliver at launch. Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet.”
The studio also explicitly mentioned that the addition of the 60 FPS mode has been done solely based on the overwhelming fan feedback:
“We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1.”
So if you didn’t quite prefer the slightly sluggish flow of gameplay in the previously released footage of The Blood of Dawnwalker, you can be rest assured that the upcoming title will feel a lot more snappy and alive when it actually releases next month.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is developed by some of the former devs behind The Witcher series and is scheduled to come out on September 3rd this year for both PC and consoles.
