The beta for this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is in it’s early access period but it seems like it’s far from being the smash hit that Activision and Infinity Ward had hoped for, and even though it might be a bit too early and the numbers may improve a lot when the beta opens for all players next week, we’re still unlikely to see the kind of player excitement that was there when the beta for Battlefield 6 rolled out last year. The Modern Warfare 4 beta has currently drawn criticisms for several gameplay related issues, such as it’s attachment system, audio and spawn issues and more.
And as a response, developer Infinity Ward has taken to social media to announce the issues they’ll be addressing first, besides promising that more in-game contents will release soon. According to their message, these are the problems that will get resolved in the first update of the beta which will come out today:
- Footstep audio tuning
- 🗳️ Map voting turned on
- 🔫 Weapon balance adjustments
- 🛠️ Bug fixes and more
The beta update will also include all new in-game contents as well and they’ll likely be revealed today by the devs.
The Modern Warfare 4 beta is in it’s first week which will run till August 25 at 10:00 AM PT and will open for another week starting on August 28 at 10:00 AM PT to September 1 at 10:00 AM PT. And while it’s pretty normal for the beta version to have more than a few issues and inconsistencies, they’ll likely to get ironed out real soon as the devs look to improve on the overall experience in different ways.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta currently includes two maps with both set in South Korea–one is titled “Silkworm” and is based on a dense Korean shopping district, and another map named “Lotus,” which is set in a Korean fishing village.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2.
