Subnautica 2 just got bigger with Early Access 1.2, the Buddy System aims to add a ton of features to the game that will make it easier for players who wanna play with friends to communicate and do things. Out of all things, proximity chat is now a new feature that will allow you to talk with your friends as long as you are close to them. It also adds trading mechanics that will make the game more bearable, along with the fact that there will also be player revives. All of this is great, and it was a surprise this wasn’t in the base game.
Subnautica 2 gets better
Krafton tried to ruin this game and take possession of it, thankfully that didn’t pan out, in fact they just lost a ton of money trying to do so, and it is money that goes to the developers of this game. In this day and age I thought I would never see some justice like that in gaming world, but if Krafton can bleed that means companies like EA, Ubisoft and others can also feel the same weight of justice over them. Now that Subnautica 2 is in the hands of those who made it, that means it can develop as it should.
I wouldn’t be able to imagine a Subnautica game slopped out by Krafton’s ChatGPT wrapper or any other sort of cheating algorithms to do something quick. I’m glad that Subnautica 2 didn’t suffer the fate that many games are suffering now thanks to greed and the collapse of the gaming industry. We can only pray for this project to succeed, and so far I would say its going pretty well, I wonder what other updates will be coming in the future since this game still remains in early access.
