Game Freak director Kota Furushima has issued a public apology regarding the launch state of Beast of Reincarnation, acknowledging that several areas of the action RPG fell short of expectations. Speaking in an interview with Japanese outlet 4Gamer, Furushima expressed gratitude toward early players while admitting that technical and usability issues have compromised the experience for many users. He reassured fans that the development team is actively taking player feedback into account to firmly improve the title through ongoing post-launch support.
Released on August 4, 2026, the non-Pokémon project currently holds a “Mixed” rating on Steam, with player criticisms largely targeting narrative pacing, camera behavior, text legibility, and technical instability. While Furushima maintained a positive outlook regarding fan reception to the post-apocalyptic setting and the dual combat mechanics featuring canine companion Koo, he acknowledged that the game requires significant polish to reach an acceptable standard.
Developer Game Freak has already begun addressing these issues with the release of Patch 1.0.7, which includes camera adjustments, enlarged UI text, cutscene adjustments, and boss rebalancing across all difficulty modes. Future updates are planned to introduce ultrawide support, DLSS 4.5 and FSR4 integration, and adjustments to the game’s overall narrative pacing.
Despite the upcoming updates, Furushima clarified that Game Freak has no plans to alter the game’s core design principles. The director noted that the steep difficulty curve was deliberately built around relying on Koo’s abilities alongside protagonist Emma. Consequently, post-launch development will focus strictly on technical performance and quality-of-life refinements rather than overhauling the underlying gameplay systems.
