Maneater is quite the goofy game, and I’m glad it got free from the curse that is having a DRM on top. Not to mention that since it is now on GOG, you can own it forever on your PC. The discount is also massive, an 85% discount will surely make you want to get the game already, if you don’t have an account on GOG yet creating one is free. They have always provided some amazing service when it comes to making old games run on newer hardware, so definitely check them out if you care about owning the things you buy.
Maneater is preserved
You can also get it via other means thanks to this release, but considering the developers are small it would be much better to just buy it on its current discount. Game making is hard, and every bit of cash helps with giving amazing developers a chance to go big. With the current layoffs that have been happening on the industry one can’t help but worry about how things will look in a few years from now. I predict many big studios will suffer a shakedown, and hopefully indie developers will take the medium over.
Maneater is a silly parody to Jaws and movies of that kind, so don’t expect anything too serious, even if that’s the case that does not mean the game doesn’t have its moments. If you somehow really liked this one for some reason, there is also a DLC that is currently not part of the discount, perhaps later on it will. However, it is not needed to fully enjoy the game because the base game already provides enough fun for everyone. Maneater is capable of running on lower end systems too, so if you are curious to try just check the hardware requirements.
