Agent 64: Spies Never Die is an amazing indie game that released on PC today, if you are nostalgic for the golden era of gaming, or understand the truth behind it, you should really give this one a try. Games back in the day had a ton of charm to them, and Agent 64: Spies Never Die tries to capture that lightning back. It also adds new stuff like online, cooperative, and everything you could expect to see, while still keeping the single player focus on things. This game should be used as a standard on how games should keep being.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is great
At least from the reviews alone, people are loving it, even the fans of the classic N64 Game 007 Golden Eye, it also takes from Perfect Dark, but despite all of this it tries to do its own thing. Retro revivals are wild lately, and I wonder what will come next, perhaps something like Super Mario 64 would be a neat thing to see, but I wanna see more obscure stuff. Indie developers have a ton of potential because they love the things they make, and they always provide something triple A developers can’t, fun games.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is one of those fun games because the missions are varied, unlockables are present everywhere, and it pretty much brings back the experience of how games should be playing out. No microtransactions, no weird payments or ads, no “AI” slop either, real games are games from decades ago, and Agent 64: Spies Never Die totally heard the call. As we can see, the reason why indie developers aim at making games like this is because they understand this was the best era of gaming, and from there it all went downhill.
